Shoutout to the doctors and technicians who took care of Maxie when she had a gallbladder emergency.
Maxie was transferred from an ER in San Antonio to AVES due to a ruptured gallbladder. I was very worried as I have read that mortality rate is high but still the doctors and techs did a great job. When we had our follow up with our primary vet, he was impressed with Maxie’s good outcome. I am truly grateful for everything you’ve done. Because of you, Maxie is home with her family. Thank you.
Our little baby was mishandled here and ultimately died. When we brought her in for testing, I specifically asked before signing the estimate that the morning doctor call us first, and they were not going to do everything without speaking to me. The technician went in the back to confirm, came back in the room, and said yes, they would not start without talking to me first.
The next morning, I received a phone call, and the new doctor was concerned about our little baby because they said she was extremely painful from all the tests.
The lack of attention, communication, and care she received broke our hearts and her body. She passed in her sleep. We are beyond devastated and will never trust anyone who works here.
They were so helpful from the start. They got a gurney to help get our boy out of the car & were immediately at work. We were super impressed with the private sitting rooms & the actual hospital area. Dr. Haraway was very upfront & honest with us which is always appreciated. Caitlyn blew us away with her knowledge of every single item we went over & how professional she was. We were kept in the loop just like we were told we would be. We (sadly had to) also use them for cremation & the package came out better than expected. The professionalism of the entire place & experience was truly impressive
My poor pup is losing one of his nails. He has been bleeding on and off all day and breaking my heart. I called them as they were our vets recommended emergency vet and I was unsure of what else to do. I knew it wasn’t technically an emergency and I lived an hour away. The PSS on the phone not only asked a vets advice but stayed with me on the phone while I tended to my pup to make sure everything turned out ok. And also looked up other ideas when I didn’t have exactly what the vet suggested! Thanks to her my pup and I can sleep soundly tonight and go to his normal vet tomorrow. I would 100% go to them if (god forbid) I had an actual emergency in the future. Although my pup is definitely not a fan of the cone I made him wear tonight. 😂
We have taken our dogs here multiple times. It’s never a good day when you are at the emergency room for your pup but at least at AVES I always know that they are in great hands. I feel confident that my pup has received the best care possible every time I leave. We recently chose to have our pup’s surgery here instead of at our regular vet (who we love too) because of the extra safeguards a full service hospital could provide in case there was a complication. We are so please with our choice. Thank you to the exceptional team at AVES!
Avoid at all cost and trust me when i say cost.
My cat needed surgery for a broken leg and we had no choice at the time because it was an emergency. They ended up putting two plates and screws to repair the leg. We were charged $8000 for the surgery. We were told he needed at least 8 weeks to heal. We went in today and found out that the plate was bent and another $8000 surgery was recommended. My wife and I never let our cat put any weight on the leg. I am not sure what kind of plates they used but apparently they are not strong enough to support any weight at all. They really seem to have quite a racket going on at this location. Our doctor kept asking us what the cat did to bend the plate and we assured her nothing. Please know what commitment it takes to keep a cat from moving for 8 weeks but we did. I just can say this to anybody looking for the best care for your animal you might want to look elsewhere (I wish I did) before you trust your beloved pet with these people.
The doctors, techs, and staff at AVES are all wonderful. Over the years they’ve seen my dogs for any emergency we’ve had and have been our go to for specialists when needed. I trust them fully with all my dogs and know that they truly care …
We had a wonderful dog named Jasper to put down and the staff absolutely treated us with respect and gave us time in the best way possible. We will always come to you folks for anything our pets can need.
